Folgarida

DOORSTEP SKIING 1300-2650M
Folgarida is still relatively unknown in the world ski scene, this is really quite amazing when you think of the size of the ski area which is all served by a well planned inter-linking lift system. A large area of piste is covered by artificial snow making machines which are very often used in very early season to build up a good base. The Val di Sole is renowned for its heavy snowfalls that usually guarantee good skiing until the end of April. The slopes are well maintained and offer an excellent progression from first day beginner to expert, with lots of wide gentle runs for novices.

THE SKIING
Your pass covers Folgarida and Marilleva which is about half the curcuit. Intermediate and advanced skiers can buy and inexpensive lift pass extension and enjoy the skiing over at Madonna di Compiglio.
Madonna has marvellous skiing and lots of fabulous shops and cafes. The whole ski area is served by a variety of mountain restaurants. The ski back to Folgarida is one of the most spectacular in the Dolomites with wide open pistes descending through the tree lines runs back to your hotel.

APRES SKI
The village itself is relatively small but does offer lovely shops, bars, a good pizzeria and a great disco in Hotel Selva. In upper Folgarida there is a skating rink and more bars and shops. There is also bowling and swimming available in Dimaro which is a short coach drive away.
