Colle di TendaDOORSTEP SKIING 1400-2185M
Colle di Tenda is situated South-West of Turin and close to the French boarder. The combined resorts of Colle di Tenda, Limone and Limonetto offer an excellent ski area little known to th british skier. Over 100km of piste is served by a lift system which ensures little or no queuing and its sheltered position ensures peliable snow until April. THE SKIING Very close to hotels is an excellent nursery area served by its own drag lifts. From adjacent to here the chairlifts can be taken towards Limone or Limonetto. these lifts link into the main system which serves an excellent choice of skiing, mainly for intermediates, both above the tree line and back through the picturesque tree lined slopes. The top lift 'Del Colle' reaches the ridge on the French frontier at 1920m where there are beautiful views of Les AlpesMaritime. In the opposite direction a long chairlift takes you to the Baita restaurant at 2000m from where a series of runs and lifts takes you to the top point at 2100m and another very good restaurant. From here there are numerous other interesting runs together with the 'Olympia' which is a world-cup classified run and a test for most skiers. APRES SKI Our resident partner Aldo Nocita offers a comprehensive programme of apres ski activities at superb prices. These include discos, tobogganing , pizza nights, skating and bowling (at nearby cuneo.)
